Anise Yates is better known as the e-girl, fashionista, and travel blogger Baby Blue. While most of her content appears on matrix channels owned by her biggest sponsor — Transys Neuronet — she's not a corporate citizen, but rather a dual nation of the UCAS (from her mother) and the UK (from her father). While still benefiting from corporate sponsorship, it allows her to portray a more "rebellious" streak, which appeals to certain segments of the UK and UCAS national markets.
Anise lost her parents in 2043 (age 10) to terrorist firebombing in London. She was raised by her paternal uncle, a metallurgist and applied geologist for Bristol Optics[1], and his stay-at-home-mother wife. While it was obviously a traumatic experience, Anise eventually settled right in between his first-born daughter (one year older than Anise) and his newborn (at the time of the incident) son.
While primarily growing up in the UK, she spent plenty of time on the other side of the pond, visiting her mother's family. When she came of age, she learned that side of her family was old money, and she was the recipient of a very large trust fund. At the suggestion of her uncle, she used some of it to earn a business degree from the University of Cambridge, which would allow her to intelligently parlay it into something more.
After graduating in 2053, she spent the next five years building her little media empire. It didn't hurt that empire involved wearing fancy clothes, visiting exciting places, and mingling with interesting people. Unfortunately, Christmas of 2059 found her visiting friends in the Seattle Metroplex, and she was caught inside the SCIRE.
