AWAIAKA Takibi is a recent arrival to Seattle, having been drawn to the SCIRE by Deus' call. She is one of the higher ranked Banded, having experienced Submersion in His Resonance five times.
Takibi was born to a mixed Japanese and Korean couple; her mother was a BTL-addicted office worker who could barely maintain her job at a third-tier Novatech subsidiary, while her father was low-ranking soldier in a jo-pok. While not destitute, they were far from wealthy and as mixed couple with a mixed child, they were social isolated.
This combination lead them towards membership in the Reverend Sun Myung Moon's Unification Church, which would become a front for insect spirits. Her parents were taken into state custody during the purge in 2055, and she (age 12) was placed in a different orphanage from her younger brother (age 10).
She discovered her powers 1 years ago (age 15), and used them to free herself from government custody. She then spent the better part of a year using them to manipulate Korea's technophilic society while searching for her parents, only to discover the tragic truth — her parents and her brother had become hosts for Invae and summarily executed.
It was while she was reeling from this discovery that she first heard Deus' call. With the assistance of Him and His agents, she was able to make her way to the Arcology and join Him in working towards His new world order.
