In addition to supplying boilerplate text for the category page, it also calculates the source key. By default, it simply uses the source page, but it can be overridden. For instance. {{Category|Articles with Shadowcomments by The Resistance}} would normally have a sort key of {{Code|The Resistance}} but it can be overridden with {{Code|Resistance}}.

A special case exists for {{Category|Articles with Anonymous Shadowcomments}}, it is sorted under {{Code|*}} so it appears in a separate group, rather than intermingled with the {{Code|A}}s.

Due to it's need to parse the page name, no working examples are possible.
