SANKAI Ikito is a Renraku company man, through-and-through. Born in Chiba, just like chief executive officer ANEKI Inazo, he grew up in Renraku housing, attended Renraku schools, and purchased Renraku products. When he awakened as an adept in his late teens, he joined a Renraku dojo. His abilities tended towards awareness and defense, which fast tracked him into a bodyguard job within Renraku's security arm.
He performed well, earning steady promotions for dutiful and effective service. In 2054 (age 28), he was transferred to the under-construction SCIRE to take a senior position within the facility's executive protection branch. He performed well, until mid 2057, where he nearly made the ultimate sacrifice — he was blown up in the same incident that resulted in MOMOKU Shinko's exposure to HMHVV.
He spent the same eighteen months in a coma, regaining consciousness a few days before the Shutdown began. Much to his shock, the severe damage to his body had been repaired cybernetically rather than via clonal organic parts. He already had some implants — tools of the trade like wired reflexes, a datajack, smartlink, and cybereyes — but his magic was now shattered. His spirit broken, he remained on medical leave, intending to make a decision to retire after the holiday season.
Along with YASUDA Keirin and URUSAI Mimi, he managed to escape the civilian round up. They spent the first night hiding out in the mall, before attempting to escape through the garage but being stymied by Blue Banded guards. They were forced back into the Mall, and eventually travelled higher, taking refuge and gathering supplies in the Hydroponic Garden on Level 21. That's where they met up with the shadowrunners and became part of The Resistance.
